Four of them are things they want to preserve but one has to be something they’re happy to bury and never have to think about again.

Bill Fellows is best known for playing Stu Carpenter in Coronation Street for three years and as ex-manager and pundit George Cartrick in Ted Lasso, for which he won a Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Performance By an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. Eli Hart has just won the 2025 BBC New Comedy Award. He was also a finalist in the Komedia New Comedy Award 2025 and the Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year 2024. Alongside stand-up, Eli is an award-winning writer and director, with short films selected by numerous respected film festivals, including his film, Regulars, which he wrote and directed and which won the ‘Rising Star’ award at the British Independent Film Festival, and PARIS IN THE RAIN which he also wrote and directed and which won him ‘Best Director’ award at the New Renaissance Film Festival .

Ep. 546 - Michael Elwyn - Actor from House of Dragon, Robin Hood and The Audience with Hellen Mirren

Michael Elwyn is an Actor and Director best known for roles such as playing Marion’s father the BBC’s Robin Hood, Lord Simon Staunton in House of Dragon (the Game of Thrones prequel), Ken in Stella on Sky One and Charles Moore in Coronation Street, the Resident Chair of 'Stillwaters'. He is an accomplished stage actor and more recently, director. Out of the many shows he’s performed in he is perhaps most remembered for playing Anthony Eden in the West End and Broadway productions of The Audience by Peter Morgan and directed by Stephen Daldry, alongside Hellen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth 2nd. Michael is the partner of the actor Alison Steadman.

Robin Ince is an award-winning British comedian, writer, and broadcaster best known for co-hosting the hugely popular BBC Radio 4 series The Infinite Monkey Cage alongside physicist Brian Cox, a show that has won multiple awards and built a global following. Ince is also the author of several acclaimed books, including The Importance of Being Interested and I’m a Joke and So Are You. He co-created the Cosmic Shambles Network and created the groundbreaking science variety night Nine Lessons and Carols for Curious People which has been adapted worldwide. He has received an Honorary Fellowship of UCL, an honorary doctorate from Royal Holloway College (University of London), and is a fellow of the British Science Association.

Ep. 543 - Keaton Henson - Critically acclaimed musician, composer, and visual artist

Keaton Henson is an English musician, composer, and visual artist known for his hauntingly emotional songs and fragile voice. Despite his success, Henson rarely performs live due to severe anxiety and stage fright, which has become a defining part of his story. His debut album Dear… (2010) brought him widespread acclaim for its raw honesty, followed by Birthdays (2013) and Kindly Now (2016), which cemented his reputation as one of Britain’s most distinctive singer-songwriters. His orchestral work Six Lethargies was performed by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra at the Barbican, and his album Monument (2020) was praised for its moving exploration of loss.Alongside his music, he is also a talented illustrator and poet, known for blending art and emotion in all his work. His latest album Parader is out on 21st November .

Ep. 536 - Amanda Barrie - Cleopatra in Carry On Cleo, Alma Baldwin in Coronation Street

Amanda Barrie is a British actress who first gained attention in the 1960s with roles in the classic Carry On films, including Carry On Cabby (1963) and Carry On Cleo (1964), where she played Cleopatra. On television, she became a household name as Alma Baldwin in Coronation Street, appearing regularly from the 1980s to 2001. After leaving the soap, she joined the cast of Bad Girls as Bev Tull, adding another memorable role to her career. She has also made guest appearances in shows such as Are You Being Served?, Doctors, and Benidorm .

Ep. 535 - Joz Norris - Award winning comedy writer and performer

Joz Norris is an acclaimed comedy writer and performer. He makes unusual shows for the Edinburgh Fringe including the smash hit Joz Norris Is Dead. Long Live Mr Fruit Salad. (winner of the Comedians’ Choice Award for Best Show, nominee for the Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality, the Chortle Award for Best Music & Variety Act, and longlisted for the Edinburgh Comedy Award) and Blink (one of the Evening Standard’s Top 20 comedy shows of 2022, and sponsored by Arts Council England), both of which transferred to multiple runs at Soho Theatre. In 2020 he adapted You Build The Thing You Think You Are, which would have been a new live show, into a feature film streamed online which was acclaimed as one of the comedy highlights of the year by both the Guardian and the Telegraph. His original sitcom for BBC Radio 4, The Dream Factory, co-written with Miranda Holms, was a radio pick of the week in the Observer, the Times, the Telegraph and the Mail on Sunday, and was featured on Radio 4’s Comedy of the Week podcast, and his Radio 4 comedy special A Small Talk On Small Talk was a Guardian Audio Pick of the Week. He was also the co-host and co-creator of BBC Radio 4’s Useless Millennials with Roxy Dunn, and has guest starred in Radio 4’s The Many Wrongs Of Lord Christian Brighty; The Now Show and The Train At Platform 4.

Ep. 534 - Professor John Duncan - a pioneer of modern cognitive neuroscience

Professor John Duncan is among the pioneers of modern cognitive neuroscience. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2008 and a Fellow of the British Academy in 2009. In 2012, he was awarded the Heineken Prize for Cognitive Science by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. After completing his education at the University of Oxford in 1976, Duncan worked for two years with Michael Posner at the University of Oregon, and then worked at the Medical Research Council (MRC). As of 2018, he is Programme Leader at the MRC's Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit in Cambridge; he is also a Professorial Research Fellow in the Department of Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of St John's College, Oxford. His latest book, The Animal and the Thinker: Instinct, Reason and the Dance of Our Divided Selves, is out now.

Edy Hurst is a critically acclaimed and award winning stand-up comedian and musician who has appeared on BBC Radio 4, MTV UK, NextUp Comedy, and BBC Radio Manchester. Having been successful in numerous new act competitions in his early career, he has also made the finals of the 2021 Musical Comedy Awards and been nominated for North West Comedy Award for Best Alternative Act and Best Comedy Show at Buxton Fringe. Edy has previously toured the UK with his debut hour Hurst Schmurst and Edy Hurst’s Comedy Version of Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of H.G. Wells’ Literary Version (Via Orson Welles’ Radio Version and Steven Spielberg’s Film Version) of The War of the Worlds and his podcast Edy Hurst’s Podcast Version of… The War of the Worlds has been at the top of sci-fi podcast charts across the world. Edy is also the co-creator of Cultural Comedy Tours, which sees stand-up comedians perform tours across museums, galleries and heritage sites .

Ep. 532 - Doug Naylor

Doug Naylor is a British Emmy-award-winning television writer, best known as the co-creator of the iconic sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf for which he wrote or co-wrote all 74 episodes. He is also a Sunday Times bestselling novelist and an award-winning TV director. He was one of the two Head Writers at Spitting Image during the series heyday and co-penned the number one single 'The Chicken Song', on which some bloke called Mike Fenton Stevens sang the lead vocal. He is also the author or co-author of three best-selling Red Dwarf novels. His latest novel, Sin Bin Island, is his first children’s novel. Sin Bin Island mixes the classic adventure ingredients of a foreboding orphanage, compelling characters and intriguing mystery, with magic, a spot of surrealism and a whole heap of funny. .
